Unlock PDF

Remove password protection.

Drop your PDF

One file · 50 MB max

Enter the document password and download an unlocked copy you can open freely. We never store your password. Unlock only works when you already know the correct password — we do not crack files.

When unlocking helps

You have the password but need an open copy for merge, compress, or annotation workflows that reject locked files.

Security reality check

Removing a password you know is convenience, not a security bypass. If you lost the password, unlock will not invent it.

After unlock

Continue with Strip Metadata or Privacy Pack if the unlocked file still carries author or producer fields you do not want to share.

Common questions

Do you keep my password?
No. It is used only to process the file in memory and is never logged or stored.
What if the PDF is not password-protected?
Unlock only works on encrypted PDFs. If your file opens without a password, there is nothing to remove — pick another tool instead.
Does this crack PDFs?
No. You must know the correct password. Filemynt does not brute-force encrypted documents.
What happens to the file and password afterward?
The uploaded PDF is unlocked in memory and deleted within one hour, and your password is never logged or stored. Nothing is kept for training, advertising, or resale.
