Strip PDF Metadata

Remove hidden info.

One or many · 50 MB each

Clear author, title, producer, and similar document info fields before sharing. Metadata cleanup is a privacy step — it does not password-protect the file.

Why metadata matters

Exports often embed author names, software versions, and titles you did not intend to share. Cleaning those fields is a simple hygiene step before public or client distribution.

What stripping is not

It is not redaction of text on the page and not encryption. Combine with Protect or Watermark when those needs apply.

Batch cleanup

Studio can strip metadata across multiple files when you are preparing a set of shareable PDFs at once.

Common questions

What metadata is removed?
Common document info fields such as author, title, subject, keywords, and producer-style fields we can clear safely with pdf-lib based processing.
Does this remove watermarks or annotations?
No. Strip Metadata targets document info fields, not visible page content, stamps, or comments.
Is this the same as Privacy Pack?
Privacy Pack strips metadata and compresses in one step. Use Strip Metadata alone when you only need the privacy clean without size reduction.
Where does my file go after metadata is stripped?
It is processed over HTTPS and deleted within one hour. Fittingly for a privacy tool, we retain nothing — not the original, not the cleaned copy, and not the metadata we removed.
