Privacy Policy

Filemynt is a website and PDF workspace operated at www.filemynt.com. This policy describes how we handle files you upload and other information collected when you use the site. It matches how the product actually works today — not a more convenient version of that story.

Files do not stay only in your browser

The Filemynt interface runs in your browser, but PDF processing does not. When you use a tool, your file is uploaded over HTTPS to Filemynt's servers (api.filemynt.com) and processed there. Files are not kept exclusively on your device, and they are not processed solely with client-side code.

Maximum upload size is 50 MB per file.

What we store about an upload

File bytes are written to temporary storage on Filemynt's application servers so the requested operation can run. We also store operational metadata needed to serve the download: original filename, file type, size, timestamps, and an expiry time. We do not keep a long-term library of your documents, and we do not use file contents to train AI or machine-learning models.

PDF open-passwords you enter for Protect or Unlock are sent to the server to complete that job. They are not saved in your file record. Do not reuse an important password as a PDF password.

How long files are kept

Each upload is given an expiry time of one hour after it is stored. A cleanup job then runs about once an hour and deletes expired files (in batches). In practice, files are usually removed within about one to two hours of upload — not at an exact second. Treat your download as the only copy. We cannot recover a file after it has been deleted.

What we collect besides files

  • Technical logs (errors, timing, request identifiers, hashed IP for rate limiting) to keep the service reliable and to limit abuse
  • Product analytics events such as which tool was used, file size, file count, success or error codes, and processing duration — not the contents of your PDF

We do not require an account. We do not sell your documents or personal data.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising

The website may load third-party scripts that use cookies or similar technologies:

  • Google Analytics 4 — page views and the product events above, to understand how the site is used
  • Google AdSense— advertising on some pages. Ads are based on page context and Google's systems, not on the contents of files you upload. Your PDFs are not sent to advertisers
  • Microsoft Clarity — only if enabled in our configuration; session analytics. It does not receive PDF file bytes

These vendors process technical data under their own policies. You can also use browser controls to block or delete cookies. We do not operate a separate cookie-consent banner today.

Infrastructure and third parties

The public website is hosted on Vercel. The PDF API runs on Filemynt's own application servers (currently DigitalOcean). Uploaded files are stored temporarily on those application servers so they can be processed. PostgreSQL stores the operational metadata described above. Google provides Analytics and AdSense when those features are configured.

We do not share PDF contents with advertising networks. Infrastructure providers see what any host necessarily sees to deliver HTTPS traffic and store temporary files.

Security

Uploads and downloads use HTTPS. That protects files in transit. Temporary files on disk and metadata in the database are protected by ordinary server access controls — not by a separate client-side encryption scheme. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Do not upload documents you are unwilling to send to a server.
