Attempt to fix corrupted PDFs by rebuilding document structure. Helps with many common export and transfer failures — not every damaged file can be recovered.
What repair is not
It is not OCR, not password cracking, and not a guarantee for every corruption type. Honest limits beat false promises.
After a successful repair
Compress or strip metadata if you plan to redistribute the recovered file. Continue in Studio without re-uploading.
Common questions
- What can repair fix?
- Structural issues where the PDF can still be partially read. Severely truncated or overwritten files may not recover.
- Is repair guaranteed?
- No. Repair is best-effort. If it fails, the file may be too damaged for automated recovery.
- Will layout stay identical?
- Repair prioritizes opening and reading the document. Complex layouts may change slightly when structure is rebuilt.
- Do you store the files I try to repair?
- No. A damaged PDF you upload is processed over an encrypted connection and removed within an hour, whether or not repair succeeds. We keep no copies.
