PDF to Text

Extract readable text.

Drop your PDFs

One or many · 50 MB each

Pull plain text from a PDF for notes, search, or editing elsewhere. Best on text-based PDFs; scanned image-only pages may yield little without OCR (not included yet).

When text extraction helps

Research notes, quoting from reports, feeding text into other tools, or searching a long PDF without reading every page.

Text PDFs vs. scans

Born-digital exports usually extract cleanly. Camera scans need OCR, which Filemynt does not claim to provide in this tool.

Privacy

Extracted text is still your content. Downloads follow the same ephemeral retention window as other Filemynt outputs.

Common questions

Does this work on scanned PDFs?
If pages are images without a text layer, extraction may return little or nothing. OCR is not part of this tool today — we stay honest about that limit.
What format do I download?
A plain text file you can open in any editor.
Is layout preserved?
Extraction prioritizes readable text over perfect visual layout. Complex multi-column designs may flatten into linear text.
Do you keep the PDF or the extracted text?
No. Both the uploaded PDF and the extracted text file are deleted within one hour. Your content is never stored long-term or reused for training, advertising, or resale.
